Museum of Contemporary Art (0.7 mi) The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver) is an innovative forum for contemporary art that inspires and challenges all audiences, creating understanding and dialog about art of our time. Founded in 1996, the MCA Denver was created to provide Denver with its first and only museum devoted exclusively to contemporary art. Since that time, MCA Denver has grown substantially in budget, size, attendance and membership. Denver Art Museum (1.0 mi) The Denver Art Museum houses collections, traveling exhibits and programs for all ages. The mission of the museum is to enrich the lives of Colorado and Rocky Mountain residents through the acquisition, preservation, and presentation of art works in both the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions, and by supporting these works with exemplary educational and scholarly programs. The 356,000 square-foot museum complex includes collection gallery space, three temporary exhibition venues, and the Lewis I. Sharp Auditorium.
