Roberto Behar and Rosario Marquardt are a husband and wife team who collaborate to create works that move from painting to the urban realm. Their work “The Peace Project” was most recently featured at the Denver Museum of Contemporary Art. Born and educated in Argentina, Behar and Marquardt have been living in Miami since 1985. As a collaborative team, they have lectured in the United States, Italy, Brazil, Argentina, and Belgium. One of Behar and Marquardt’s most notable pieces is “The Living Room” a 42’ tall unfinished home turned inside out that performs as a social sculpture within the Miami Design District. The project stands as an “imaginary solution” for the contemporary city bridging the gap between art and life, popular culture and contemporary art. The project has been featured in The New York Times, Art in America and Wallpaper magazine.
