Denver’s trendiest neighborhood is also the city’s premier historic district. Lower Downtown (referred to locally as LoDo), is a vibrant, mixed-use neighborhood that is home to 25 square blocks of art galleries, restaurants, night clubs, eclectic boutiques, breweries and more. While the area has retained many of its historic features and landmarks (including Union Station), LoDo has experienced a major resurgence over the last decade, with the redevelopment of classic buildings and former warehouses into upscale lofts and retail spaces that preserve the district’s distinctive architecture and heritage.

LoDo is now considered one of Denver’s destination neighborhoods, and it’s easy to see why. Sports fans can catch a game or concert at Coors Field or the Pepsi Center. Bibliophiles can visit the Tattered Cover Bookstore for great books and attend live author events, while foodies can indulge with some of the city’s most celebrated eateries, including ChoLon Bistro, D’Corazon, Freshcraft, Denver Chop House, and Mercantile Dining & Provision...just to name a few. If you’re a beer enthusiast, don’t skip Denver’s most historic brewpub, Wynkoop Brewing Company. This popular brewery offers tours as well as a fantastic food and beer pairing menu. If people watching is more your speed, just head over to the tree-lined Commons Park for a picnic or a game of frisbee.

STAY BLOCKS FROM LODO AT OUR DOWNTOWN DENVER ART HOTEL

If LoDo is at the top of your Denver must see list, there’s no better place to stay than The Curtis. Our downtown Denver hotel is just two blocks from the start of LoDo, perfectly placing us within walking and biking distance, an added benefit as parking in LoDo is notoriously limited. You’ll also stay happy with our pop-culture themed rooms and ultra-spacious suites, each outfitted with fun décor and upscale amenities including our signature Sweet Dreams® bed and 42” LCD TVs.

Along with the chef-driven restaurants and nightlife in LoDo, our central downtown location puts you steps away from the shopping and entertainment at the 16th Street Mall and directly across the street from the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Of course, art fans don’t have to travel too far for inspiration, The Curtis is home to our own impressive art collection - we’ve even been named one of the 10 Best Art Hotels in the U.S. by USA Today.
